This is the First A Level Unit

To Film Students

This booklet is to support you in your preparation for the A Level Film Studies Examination Papers 1 and 2 and the Non-Examination Assessment. This notebook comprises the theory and ideas from the related series of lessons led by your teacher, and is designed to help you to start thinking a little more clearly about the content and requirements involved in studying this subject. By having the notes prepared for you, the anticipation is that you will be able to look at these in your own time and, as the course progresses, be able to relate backwards and forwards to these to develop your understanding. It is not necessary for you to immediately ‘get’ what all of the different theories and ideas are – few students do. The notes in this pack will form a useful revision guide for this work on Film Language+ and will link to the other Edusites Advanced Level Units 1-6 as well as building on Edusites GCSE Units to provide a comprehensive revision resource for papers 1 and 2 of whichever exam board specification your teachers have chosen for you to follow. In addition, they will be a useful guide for the development of your own NEA portfolio of practical work. Some of the lessons will refer you to one of these packs – either to review/revise or to supplement the learning if you have not completed a GCSE in Film studies or to one of the Units 1-6 to develop...
